From: IsraelP Subject: Genealogy #4 Date: Sun, 15 Aug 1999 17:37:25 +0300 There have been two interesting connections in the past few weeks. You may recall that a couple of months ago, we had information on the confiscation of property by the Nazis from four unfamiliar Pickholz from Vienna - Siegfried, Otto, Friedrich (who died in Dachau) and Elise. We have now located family of these four. The three men were brothers and Elise was the wife of Otto. Siegfried's widow lives in England and Otto's daughter Sylvia is in Buenos Aires and I am in contact with her. We'll see where this leads. (The three brothers were born upwards of ninety years ago and their parents may have been among the first Pickholz to have settled in Vienna.) If you have a look at the updated web site, you will see that the family headed by Zusia from Podhajce and with a continuation in Argentina has disappeared. That is because we have identified Zusia as the son of David Shemuel (son of Pinchas and Rachel) from Rozdol, and they have been transferred to that branch. I hope that these new cousins will soon be in touch with each other directly. The key to making that connection was a Page of Testimony filled out by Zusia's wife's niece, who knew to cite his father's name. The web site now includes all the information (as best we understand it) from the sixty-five Pages of Testimony and about twenty new photos of graves (one in Warsaw, the rest here). There are two more graves yet to do, which I'm taking my time with in order to get the acrostics and rhymes in the best way possible. No biographies yet for the web site. That's it.
