Subject: Genealogy #73 - visiting the US Reply-to: IsraelP@pikholz.org Date: Thu, 02 Jun 2011 11:43:56 +0300 Dear Cousins, As I wrote in my last summary, I plan to be in the US for four weeks beginning 11 August, for three occasions. The Conference of the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies will be held in Washington DC 14-19 August. I'll be speaking there on the first day. I also plan to attend the bar mitzvah of my second grandson in suburban Chicago and the wedding of my second son in NY. It will be a busy time, but if anyone wants to get together in the places I'll be, we can probably work that out. I also hope to get photographs of family graves, particularly in New Jersey, Queens and perhaps Philadelphia. Most of you should be familiar with our virtual cemetery at http://www.pikholz.org/Cemetery/Cemetery.htm and I'd appreciate your having a look there to see if there are graves that I do not even have on my list. I'd hate to miss any, when I am going there anyway. Which reminds me, if you go to http://www.pikholz.org/Volunteer/PhotoCem.html , you will see a list of cemeteries where we have family graves waiting to be photographed. If anyone is able to do any of those, please let me know. Thank you. Incidentally, I recently received a clipping from the Lwow Jewish newspaper Chwila from February 1924, in which Eisig Rothfeld of Stryj wished mazal tov to Genia Pickholz and Isaak Grunhald on their engagement. I have no idea who this couple is - or if they actually married. Israel P. -- End --
