Oy, a great man of Israel has been taken,
the apple of our eye |

A man of many deeds, wholesome spirit and
a pure and honest soul |

God's candle is extinguished, we have lost
all our glory |
|
Dedicated to learning Torah all his days
and Torah was his life |
|
Such a man is called "living," even after
death |
|
His believing children prostrate themselves
on his grave |
